Do You Have Swine Flu Symptoms?

What you need to know now.

What are the Swine Flu symptoms you need to look out for? Do you have a fever? How about body aches? Are you coughing? Do you feel fatigued?

It may be difficult at first to tell the difference between the seasonal flu, a common cold, and the H1N1 influenza. But, there are some very important symptoms differences.

People infected with the Swine Influenza have reported to have a sudden onset of high fever (102-104 degrees) lasting for 3-4 days. You may feel headaches and severe muscle aches. You may experience general weakness and even extreme fatigue. These symptoms may be accompanied by a dry cough, sore throat and runny or stuffy nose.

Gastrointestinal symptoms have also been reported including severe diarrhea, stomach cramping, nausea and vomiting. Symptoms may be mild to severe presenting a varied degree of illness.

How Long Does It Last

Severe symptoms of Swine Influenza may include significant or prolonged symptoms of 10 days or greater. An infected person may develop difficulty breathing, with rapid or painful respirations. You may develop bluish skin color due to lack of oxygen intake.

Dizziness or fainting, return of fever or cough after symptoms have improved, dehydration (feeling a dry mouth or excessive thirst) cough with yellow mucus or saliva, confusion, severe or persistent vomiting, worsening of an existing serious medical condition including underlying heart or lung disease, diabetes, HIV, or cancer.
